Unclaimed Lottery Prize in South Tyneside
£1.5m Lotto Prize Remains Unclaimed
Not another one!! It’s amazing how many of these headlines you see when you watch out for them
The South Shields Gazette revealed last month, that the South Tyneside holder of a winning National Lottery ticket, has still to claim their £1.5 million jackpot prize. The draw was held on Saturday 27th March, the winning numbers are: 6, 11, 15, 32, 38 and 42. To date, this prize remains the largest amount of money, waiting to be claimed.
Thirty eight days on, still nobody has come forward to collect the jackpot, in which the ticket holder is losing out on £100 per day.
With four months left to claim their prize, lottery chiefs are making exhaustive enquiries in order to identify the winner, to unite them with their winnings. Thursday, September 23rd at 17:30 hours is the deadline, if the jackpot has not been claimed by then, the money, £1,524,177 plus interest will be deposited in the National Lottery’s Good Causes fund.
Using the best available high street interest rate of 2.5%, the prize could be earning the ticket holder £105.60 per day in interest, which equates to £4,012.80 since the draw.
A National Lottery spokesman said, “We’re desperately striving to identify the winner, and pay them their prize, which could make a huge difference to their life.”
“I urge everyone to double check old tickets, pockets of clothing, wallets, bags, even the sides and back of the sofa. Someone could unknowingly be sitting on a fortune.”
“The champagne is on ice, fingers crossed that the ticket holder comes forward to claim their prize, within the allotted timescale.”
Unclaimed prizes include one due to a ticket holder in Newcastle, who matched five numbers plus the bonus ball in the February 13th draw this year. The deadline for the ticket holder to claim their £81,698 prize, is Monday, August 9th at 17:30 hours.
If you feel you hold any of these the winning tickets contact the Gazette News desk on 427 4858, call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000 or visit www.national-lottery.co.uk.
It goes without saying, if you were a participant in a Lottery Syndicate, like LoveMyLotto, your prize money would be paid directly into your nominated bank account, without this worry of losing your ticket, and having to be found. Click the banner below to learn more.
