Here’s how NOT to benefit from a big Lottery win.

A passenger on board a Ryanair flight, en route from Krakow, Poland, to East Midlands Airport, was congratulated by cabin crew on his lottery win. They explained that as the prize was such a large sum, he would need to collect this from the Company who run the lottery.

The passenger became so irate that his winnings of €10,000 ($15,000) could not be paid out whilst on board the flight, that he performed a very strange act…..

Mid flight, the upset passenger ATE his winning scratch card, which automatically invalidated his claim to the prize.

Visitors to the airline’s website were asked which charity should benefit from the €10,000 prize. The poll has closed, but the candidates included:

1.      An Anger Management Charity
2.      An Eating Disorder Charity
3.      A Gamblers’ Charity
4.      A Disruptive Children’s Charity
5.      A Mental Health Charity

Ryanair spokesman Stephen McNamara said, “Previously, passengers had always been delighted to claim their large cash winnings on returning home.”

“Unfortunately, on this occasion, the winner felt that his €10,000 prize, should have been held on board the aircraft, to have paid him out.”

This must rank as the most unusual in-flight meal ever, and I imagine the passenger is now feeling extremely sick, and has no-one but himself to blame!

In a bizarre twist, 50 people contacted Ryanair claiming to have eaten this ticket – 40 of them weren’t even on the plane! Read more.
