Plans have been announced by the Manx Lottery Trust (MLT) to distribute £1.5 million towards good causes in the Island over the forthcoming five years.

Chairman of the MLT, Neil Bryden said, “The availability of much needed additional funding for voluntary and community organizations on the Isle of Man, is great news.”

“There are in existence several different groups, committed to bringing significant improvements to communities, and individuals most in need, and it is these organizations who we look forward to supporting through funding.”

Eligible groups are a voluntary or community organization, club or association, parish or town local authority, or school.  Grants are available by application, of between £1001, and £10,000, under the auspices of the General Awards Programme, whose focus is to assist a specific project with funding.

Other grants available through the trust are the Smaller Grants and Larger Grants Programs, which provide funding from £300 – £1000 and over £10,000 respectively.
