Danson Youth Centre in Brampton Road, Bexleyheath, had every reason to celebrate children’s play, with no shortage of fun and games for youngsters to participate in, and enjoy.

The Centre is one of three projects which benefitted with funding from the Big Lottery Fund, in order to celebrate National Play Day.

Loads of activities are available, many of which the children are able to enjoy all year round, including Karate, boxing, cricket, trampolining, skateboarding and BMX in the Centre’s Wheelz Skate Park.

Additionally there is an assault course to challenge the stamina of the children, various giant inflatables, donkey rides, a planetarium, craft and arts activities, plus pets corner. Under fives have not been forgotten, with a baby gym and play area.

Meanwhile, at Royal Park Primary School, Sidcup, Bexley’s outdoor activities were being promoted by the Borough’s Play Rangers Team, with the opportunity to check out new play equipment at the Falconwood playground, Welling.
